What a day!! Goodbye boys, hello french toast and maple syrup! After a beauty breakie us girls were split up into three groups. Heather, Carly and Kaija off to the school, Shannon and Tammie off to the nursery, miranda and Mindi off to help a child with MS and Flick off to do some more planning.
At 10am we all went to help out at a feeding program. This was so challenging for all of us. These people were living in a basketball court, in little cubby houses because their homes were lost in the flood, they had so little. We were able to feed them lunch and give out vitamins to the children which i think they thought were lollies:)
The afternoon was spent teaching PE by Miss Carly, 4 classes of basketball in a row, full on. Miranda and Mindi went back to help out with the MS girl.
Tonight we had our first Basketball game against Assumption College, their facilities were amazing! We had the opportunity to share about why we are here and Mindi got to give her testimony about what Jesus has done in her life, was very well recieved. We also gave each player a bible and tract. We were lucky enough to win, yes thats right we won...by 27 points. Whoo! There were some sick inside moves by shannon and some good running of the floor by carly. Some krispykremes for an after game snack and life coudnt get much better.
It is also official, the 500 piece puzzle has been completed but not in the time limit originally given by Kaija. dissapointing girls, no prize for you.
Tomorrow another day, another challenge but as we say BRING IT!
